Kristen's therapeutic approach centers on meeting clients where they are, allowing the creative process to guide their journey toward healing and providing guidance along the way as they explore which materials and forms of expression feel most authentic. She believes that art-making fosters self-esteem, facilitates the exploration and expression of identity, and helps process difficult emotions. In collaboration with her clients, Kristen uses creative techniques to develop emotional regulation skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and teach practical coping strategies.
Kristen is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Art-Assisted Grief Therapy. When not working with clients Kristen enjoys spending time with her dogs, making collages, and trying out new coffee shops.
